In the state of Tennessee, Volunteers of America is one of the state’s largest nonprofit providers of programs that support people with developmental disabilities, serving adults — both young and elderly — in a supportive residential network. In the middle and western segments of the state, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to a population of vulnerable people, many of whom have complex medical needs or are in need of end-of-life care. Our professional and direct care staff provide 24-hour care and support for clients allowing them to participate and experience a greater quality of life in the local community.
Throughout the state, we also create and manage housing for low income elderly persons; serve homeless veterans by linking them with affordable housing, employment and supportive services; and, match ex-offenders with life coaches to provide support and encourage healthy re-entry.
Through our broad mission, we are reaching the most vulnerable people in the state of Tennessee, uplifting and empowering them through compassion, care, and a helping hand, to reach their potential and ultimately build healthy and safe communities.
