In the state of Tennessee, Volunteers of America is one of the state’s largest nonprofit providers of programs that support people with developmental disabilities,  serving adults — both young and elderly — in a supportive residential network.  In the middle and western segments of the state, we provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to a population of vulnerable people, many of whom have complex medical needs or are in need of end-of-life care. Our professional and direct care staff provide 24-hour care and support for clients allowing them to participate and experience a greater quality of life in the local community.

In the Knoxville area, we create and manage housing for low income elderly persons, and serve homeless veterans by linking them with affordable housing, employment and supportive services.

Through our broad mission, we are reaching the most vulnerable people in the state of Tennessee, uplifting and empowering them through compassion, care, and a helping hand, to reach their potential and ultimately build healthy and safe communities.
