This is the harsh reality for the children and their parents who will call our Family Emergency Shelter and other supportive care facilities their home this holiday season. Your support will create real hope for these families who are struggling to overcome homelessness and other challenges. There are so many ways to help.

Adopt-a-Family

Do you long for a holiday giving opportunity that captures the meaning of the season--beyond just donating gift cards? Then our Adopt-a-Family project is just the match for you or your community group. When you Adopt-a-Family, you’re creating hope in the lives of real people who are facing real challenges this holiday season. Individuals and groups may choose a family that fits their unique giving possibility. It could be a mom and new born baby or a larger family with mom, dad and children in need. Adopt-a-Veteran
Kentucky and West Virginia

Veterans in our programs need your help this holiday season. Gift cards for food and clothing items are the pefect fit for men and women who have served our country. Or, consider purchasing and donating a new  winter coats for a local veteran. They can use all adult sizes and can be taken to your local Volunteers of America veterans program location.

Warm a Heart
Louisville area Heine Brothers' Coffee locations

This year, we've partnered with Heine Brothers' Coffee for a new way to create Hope for the Holidays. It's called Warm a Heart. Just drop off new winter accessories--like gloves, scarves and hats--while picking up a cup of coffee and help homeless families and veterans this winter season. Look for specially marked collection bins at every Heine Brothers' Coffee location. Your donation will make a real difference!

Honor Employees, Colleagues, Friends and Family with a Donation in Their Name
All locations

Looking for a meaningful gift for your employees, business contacts, friends and family this season? Not sure what to get a colleague of yours? A donation to Volunteers of America in their honor makes the perfect gift. For a minimum $20 donation per person or honored, you will receive  a beautiful full-color greeting card with all of the materials for the recipient to make a charming holiday ornament. A special note explaining you have made a donation in their honor to Volunteers of America will be enclosed with each card. Just complete and send this order form by December 15. Quantities are limited. Orders will be processed in the order they are received.
